thank you! admittedly, i don't have the most coherent answer for you (╥﹏╥) i did media studies in school, which defo played a factor in getting the hang of technical aspects. but my process in general is just a painful amount of trial and error... for example: figuring out a colour palette and what kinda imagery i'm going for, if it's gritty/abrasive or soft/dream-like, etc etc. -- probs the hardest step for me, but i find that it sets up the goal of the project. then when it comes to actually photobashing: fiddling with blending modes, overlaying a shit ton of textures (noise, half tones, dithering effects, the list goes on), using texture brushes (they're your best friend! for example, i like using brushes to add highlights, on the side of the skull in my update post.) in terms of guides or tutorials, i've found watching time lapses interesting. it's helpful seeing how people approach photobashing, the techniques they use, and so on. brainstorming on pinterest and are.na helps me, too! even just looking at art. disco elysium's artwork is beautiful, i love how they've used textures throughouot the environments. i'm very much inspired by this artist as well: @cds_art_ on instagram/twitter. take a look at their work for METAMORPHOSIS! i'm really sorry if this answer isn't as helpful as you would've liked, it's quite rambely. please feel free to email me if you'd like a list of resource websites or have any other questions!!
